Yes, I am also going through the same process. But if you pay off everything, you have to pay 2% of your loan amount as penalty fee.
So, I am advised, that we can just keep the last 13months EMI, and pay off the remaining to avoid that 2% fee And let the 13months EMI be paid normally.
Its same for every bank in India.
This is an option. I did one more trick. Made big part payment and asked them to reduce my EMI. Now I have EMI of Rs. 1200 for next 13 months. No penalty.

There is some potential good news on the horizon. DHS just published a notice (http://www.regulations.gov/fdmspubli...0000648072c5eb) that they intend to consolidate three of ancient CIS electronic record systems into a new database. Hopefully, this new database will yield the data the Visa Office needs.
Right now, the CIS does not have any comprehensive database that shows how many AOS cases are pending by preference classification, priority date, and country of chargeability. The new database that is supposed to become operational within the next ten days contains information gathered from the many independent CIS databases. Supposedly, this new database will show all of this information.
Once the CIS is able to provide the State Department with this information, the Visa Office will then (for the first time) have accurate information as to the actual demand for immigrant visas. They will then be able to make more accurate adjustments to the cutoff dates in the Visa Bulletin. For some time now, they have been flying blind without accurate information.

I think all Gravitation was saying is PD needs to be after 1st May 2001.
This is an interesting theory about EB3 ppl moving to EB2 and jamming EB2 as well. Good for EB3 ppl having PB in 2003 at least.
Although it does scare me that even if 20% people moved to EB2, and EB2 is now stagnant, so how many more are left in EB3 before June 2003.

You can buy a ticket, which has a hard return date after six months. After they come here, you can again reschedule earlier or later. I know cathay pacific allows to reschedule any number of times for free...

I have PD of Nov 2006, 140-Approved, 485-July 2nd. I have not got any LUD on any of my applications. So, this soft LUD might not be for everybody.

I just got notice that my cards have been sent for production for my family and I with the exception of my 3 year old son. They have asked for an RFE for him. Has anyone come across this issue? I assume its something basic like photo or updated medical?? Please help.

The attorney is not giving out any suggestions on what to do as they already filed, got a high PW and appealed which got denied.
The attorney is suggesting to refile, something I don't think is going to change the outcome.

I had received response to 140 stating pending background name check.
Here is the exact lines
"USCIS is awaiting the results of your pending background name check. The USCIS is unable to predict when a background check might be completed. so they ask us to wait 120 days before initiating another inquiry."
I am not sure whether this is related with IBIS check or name check or background check. If its an IBIS check EAD also got the same check and my EAD has been renewed twice. My FP was done in Nov 07 and after 2 days of FP my appln was transferred from TSC to NSC
Anyway I will wait for another 120 days

The current events starting from a rumor has caused frustration in our members. The news coming out of AILA got us into action and we are working on trying to prevent this visa bulletin disaster to happen for our members. Due to weekend, There are less opportunities to pursue but we are not taking this as an excuse and please know that IV is working this weekend and have been working ever since we heard about this news and are using all measures and contacts at the appropriate levels of government to help our members. Could anyone, please help me with this issue?:
My company who sponsored my green card is living in Massachusets....is it ok if my company sent the package of I-485 and I-140 to Nebraska?( concurrent filing)..they should't have sent the package to Texas? ( my consulting company is in MA, but I work at the client site in Texas).
Please advise me as I'm very confused and worried.

Just follow what TomPlate has said.
I had exactly the same issue (the return was rejected) and I called IRS. They asked me to put 0 in the AGI and it was then accepted.
we had a similar issue,
what happens is that when you efile with IRS, They dont have data that your wife had SSN last year, and they have just the ITIN number. thats the reason efile gets rejected. you need to manually file this year and next year it should be OK to efile.
I am not sure which pacakge you are using to Efile, I had similar problem with HR blocks tax cut software.

As far as I know you must be in the US to apply for AP. But even if you could apply it probably won't serve your time interests since it takes at least 3 months to get it processed; and these days it would probably take up to 4-5 months. I applied for AP in November, I still haven't received it.

Oh Yes there is a law and its called 'VISA BULLETIN'. The law is enforced every month by Lord Charles Oppenheim who is the judge & jury and USCIS being executioner and we all the defendants. Its one of the most fairest law which is primarily base on the country of your birth.

I have applied 485 during the july07 fiasco,I got 2 eads and aps,they have not even touched my case since april08.Is my case preadjudicated?
If you have not yet received any RFE, you are a lucky person and your I-485 application has been filed perfectly. As per USCIS announcements, they have almost completed (99.99%) review of all pending AOS cases and pre-adjudicated most of them. I will presume that your case has been pre-adjudicated and all set to go Green whenever visa number is available.
One way to find out whether your case been pre-adjudicated is to call USCIS thro POJ method and talk to a IO (not customer service person) and they will be able to tell you.

Did the office say that you are granted visa and the passport will be mailed. I know in Mumbai consulate, you can collect the stamped-passport the same evening.
NewDelhi consulate will have an email address, email them and check. otherwise if you are there in the city visit the consulate and enquire.
Just my thoughts.All the best.
THe process has changed the passport are now delivered the next day between 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Mumbai consulate no longer delivers the passport the same day of interview.

Is copy of approved I140 required for filing ?
Will just having a receipt notice of I140 do? My 140 is approved but I don't have the approval only the copy of the receipt notice.
I understand that attorney is the best to answer this question, but still thought of posting to get an idea to see if it is possible to file 485 without copy of approved I140.

I have one more question? When I spoke with USCIS and opened the inquiry in dec 2010. why did they come up with " RFE resposne not received till todate?" Do you think thye just checked the online status and responded back. My lawyer says that they spoke with someone at Texas service center and they told them that they have received the response. Can people share their experience with same day counter passport collection from the vfs courier center at Chennai.
Reason I ask is, I and my wife have a 9AM appointment on 14th August. And Aug 15th being a holiday on account of India's Independence Day. Since we have to be in US on the 16th August to file for I485, getting the visa on the 16th would be too late. Therefore, it's critical that we collect the passport the same day.
Is anyone else in a similar situation? Should I inform the consular of our same night travel plans or is that ill-advised?

Reason for rejection is at that time visa numbers were not available.
Whats your PD...Iam assuming you applied in 05/2005 because the vb said your dates were current.
